LA ZONA - The Movie

La Zona is a Mexican Spanish thriller movie based on social issues of Mexico. But the nature of social parity indicated in the movie is globally same. How law is different for a rich man and a poor man, it’s clearly visible

La Zona is a part of city which is surrounded by high security and walls. The denizens are rich who live lavish life, own a society with its own internal rules, sophisticated infra-structure and obtained privileged / autonomous status by local laws. Each and every part of the colony is under surveillance by skilled security guards

In a stormy night, a big advertising hoarding collapsed on one of the walls of La Zona which gave path to three young boys to enter in to La Zona for theft but two of them were shooted by inhabitants but one of the intruders (naming Miguel) could manage to run away within the boundary of La Zona. In fire shooting, one of the security guard was also killed by an old man resident who wanted to confess but moved back by his wife and governing committee members of La Zona and society members hide everything from police and gave a lot of money to the wife of deceased security guard who was buried in the grave yard of La Zona by which the wife could get insurance claim. Police started to investigate and started to get clues that three persons are missing and they found dead bodies of the two but they did not get any clue of Miguel. Miguel managed to enter in to the basement of a society member whose boy (Alejandro) is a teenager and interacted with Miguel. Alejandro expressed sympathy towards Miguel and made a video film to publicise innocence of Miguel  that he did not kill an old woman of La Zona rather it was killed by the other two boys who were killed during escape.  Police came with warrant and proof but the senior police officer came with an offer to cover up the entire case against a huge sum. Society members agreed upon the same although some members intended to tell truth to the police. At last Miguel was caught by father of Alejandro and bitten till death by La Zona members. Miguel tried to take help from police but he was not given any help as it could expose police in covering up the case. Father of Alejandro saw the video by which he came to know that Miguel was innocent and he was not a guilty left him left him with deep shame and remorse for doing such heinous work.

At last, Alejandro managed to take the body of Miguel from the garbage and went outside the city’s grave yard , paid money to the person digging graveyards to bury Miguel. Alejandro informed at the phone number mentioned on the hand of Miguel that Miguel was no more. The phone was picked up by girl friend of Miguel who was bitten brutally by police which changed her face and said that she did not know Miguel. The mother of Miguel did not get justice till last.

The movie is a slap on social democracy. In every part of the world , police and law appears to help rich and wealthy men and treating poor as the weight on the earth. Each and every part of the movie is interesting and will not let audience to leave the seat. Acting of Alejandro, his parents and Carlos are unparallel.
